.:: PISQ - Interforces Range of Salto di Quirra ::.

The Poligono Sperimentale e di Addestramento Interforze of the Salto di Quirra (Experimental Range for Interforces training), called PISQ, is a unit
composed by the four Italian Forces: Army, Navy, Air Force and Carabinieri and it works in research and testing of weapons, training system, defense systems, aerospace,
envolving air, land and sea activities.
The Poligono Interforze of the Salto di Quirra is situated in a region between Cagliari and Nuoro areas in the south-east side of Sardinia island,
where a wide plateau is situated and known as Salto di Quirra.
All kind of missions can played in two wide areas with different characteristics and features:
- Ground sector, where PISQ Command is situated with the rest of installation and logistic;
- Sea sector (San Lorenzo Cape), where Comando del Distaccamento Logistico is situated which provides full support for activities in the area.
Both areas allow to do multiple activities and at the same time, giving a realistic scenery to its customer (such as anphibious and detachment operations).

Inside the areas there are several stations with remote sensors operated by PISQ, to track and control all weapons system under experimantal activities.
The range has two telemetric stations, one fixed and one mobile. They are used to received signals from devices installed on board of missiles, aircrafts and other systems.
Thanks to an extended number of sensors, capacity to manage data and informations, range provides an high quality and improved capability with an high affordability.
Telemetry system is integrated with all devices and sensors of the range, so it's possible to operate a wide list of different missions.
Range has aircrafts and helicopters to operate autonomously during all operations.
Three helicopters AB-212 and one aicraft MB-339 are envolved by personnel of the 672ma Squadriglia, to recover targets, Search and Rescue operations in the areas, sensors calibration
and anti-aircraft devices calibration, training of the radar equipments and control of the areas.
The 672 Squadron operates also for local Health department to provide a quick transport in case of heavy injured or sick patients.
