On May 7 2003, a special operation event has been organized in Brindisi FIR where several fighters and military airplanes performed some RECCE and Air to Air missions in two areas called AREA1 and AREA2. All operations was controlled by an E-3 AWACS. It was a successful event with civilian and military traffics in the same FIR. Thanks to the organization, pilots and controllers, no accidents or problems was reported. Here the list of pilots and controller envolved in the operations:
